Douglas Schofield has written a most accomplished and well-crafted first thriller novel. It has drama, plot, structure and character development. Spanning 3 different countries, it introduces us to a troubled young heroine and her perilous journey, while also educating us on a number of technical matters, which become central to the unfolding of the story. It is highly recommended as a book that one cannot put down.
